Heading to Moab for about 10 days Nov. 1. I'll be riding my new Beta 500 with 3 others on 4 stroke dual sports. We are capable riders, but not extraordinary. Any suggestions for must ride trails out there? I've never been We wanted to ride white rim, Kane creek, fins n things. Anything we're missing that we should hit?

Thanks

Have fun!
Check out these two sites. You can download all the trails, and then view them on goggle earth or if you are really into pain BaseCamp.
I use a small garmin GPS mounted on the bars to find the trails. The brewery in town has good beer and food. You need to buy the beer in a can if you want high test, if not its low grade 3.2, thanks Utah. Better make sure you got fuel for the rim, unless you got the 3 gal tank.
the first link has all the trails on gps (.gpx files). the second is just tons of very good info.
Also take some food and plenty water, some of these rides are all day.
Have a safe fun trip.

We just back from Utah, mostly rode the Abajo mountains out of Monticello some of the single track closed Oct 1st.

Make sure you have gas to make the loops and or get lost, if your not running inserts or tire balls, someone in your group will get a flat, prepare accordingly.

And here's my I told you so to the guys that were in my pack, throw those Co2 inflators away and go buy a mini bicycle pump, it lighter and will pump air for ever.

Off memory, I know Pritchett was decent. Sovereign rings a bell as well. It was a bit of a drive from Moab, but 5 Miles of Hell was easily my favorite part of our trip.

Personally I would skip White Rim

My favorite place to ride down that way is White Wash area. It has dunes, slick rock, washes and canyons to ride. It is between Green River and Moab

Other suggestions:

-Poison Spider Mesa ->Golden Spike -Gold Bar

-7 Mile Rim ->Monitor/Merrimack -> Tushar -> Bartlett Wash

-Slick Rock and Hell's Revenge then go ride Fins & Things while you in that area

-Sovereign is a great single track complex

-Hook and Ladder is great as well. About 30 miles south of Moab.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out White Wash - definitely interested in riding some dunes!

Most of us are running 4 gal tanks, but thanks for the heads up on flats. Makes sense. I'll pack a couple extra tubes and patches. I use the slime pump kit, hooks up to sae plug and works great. Probably 1.5- 2 lbs.

What tire pressures you running out there?. there is a lot of sand too?

Fair amount of sand.

I run Tubliss and carry tire plugs with me and CO2. I haven't had a flat in Moab since running Tubliss since most of the flats there are pinch flats due to the many sharp ledges, Etc. I run 2 PSI in the rear with a AT81 RC and 7 psi in the front with a Bridgestone M59

Riding Moab Nov 4-7, then heading south and have until Nov 13 when we have to be back in Moab to make it back to Denver for a midnight flight.

If you have any suggestions south of Moab or would want to meet up we would love to hear from you.
