Black Hills SD

Postby Clearvu1 » Thu May 24, 2018 2:45 pm

A buddy and I are headed to the Black HIlls for the Memorial Day weekend. Plan to ride Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Staying up by Sturgis but will likely drive to trailhead at Nemo Guest Ranch. If there are any riders knowledgeable of the area and trail systems that are looking for some riding partners this weekend send me a text or give me a call. 641-295-1243. I won't have email after today.

Probably just missed you. We found some good stuff. Trail 8500 starting down by Sugar Shack was fun, a lot of dead fall but good hills. Same on 8501, just go over or go around the big stuff. 8575 was my personal favorite, fast with good flow.

I'm looking at moving to the Rapid City area, what's the riding like out there? Mainly single track and trail stuff.

Single track as good as it gets, get a forest trail map and also stop in at Rosco's .

There is some really good riding out there but the 4 wheelers and sxs have really cut into it. It's pretty obvious the dual track trails get way more attention/assets than single track. If you move out there maybe you can work on that.

I actually work on that stuff, I saw there was group publishing some tracks and routes. I thought I might offer to do some cartography work for them.
