An Oil Drain Tool (ODT) kit for Beta motorcycles, including Xtrainer 250/300 and 250/300 RR models is now available for sale. The ODT allows you to easily change your transmission oil, without getting oil over the frame and skid plate. Many thanks to Alex in Canada (that's me) for suggesting to make an ODT for Betas and providing feedback and photos during prototyping and trial fitting. I helped Mark with the prototype and testing of this beta tool and I have used it and it works as described in the YouTube video. the tool is Machined not cheaply made and will last a lifetime

I just use a piece cut out of an old plastic bottle...

Agreed. I use an old piece of cardboard with a crease down the middle. Shove it under the engine case. I make it long enough to hangout over my drain pan. Bob's your uncle.

You don't want to know...

Put the bike on the side, take out oil plug, screw in above mentioned bung, fit piece of hose on bung, hang hose in oil catch pan, put bike back up, drain...
By that time I'm back out riding... a piece of plastic or cardboard works just fine and a bit of oil on the frame never hurt a dirtbike. it will get washed after the ride anyway...

Why not just lean your bike on to a wall/bench on RH side of bars, your going to have to do this to get the majority of oil out anyway. Been doing it this way for years and never had an issue with oil on skid plate, same with KTM's also.

Also, with these there's no use for the big oil pan. You can stick the hose directly into an empty oil bottle, so there's no transfer out of the pan afterward.
the tool is only to be installed while draining the oil. it is not to be a replacement for the OEM drain plug while riding the bike

I just took a M14 x 1.5 bolt from the hardware store and drilled a hole in the middle, machined the head off, attached a hose and bingo. Cheap, easy and functional.
