Man that is awesome.
On the earlier KTM 300's they would do the "wet mod" to help with the sketchy design. You would seal off the ignition cover and put a few ounces of oil in there. Looks like Beta did it right from the beginning.
The 2013's didn't seem to need it when they went to the stronger motor, however you still had that hokey intermediate gear between the motor spline and the bendix. Looks like the Beta motor spline directly engages the bendix. Sweet.
On the KTM even with the stronger motor, there was still the issue of the spline bearing getting moisture in it and seizing up. I had to deal with that right before I sold the KTM.
Such a superior design here. When people ask me why I went with Beta (you would think I was trying to leave a cult, maybe I did) one of the top reasons was a motor designed for e-start not the other way around .
