SA Endcap Replacement

Postby mtdirtbag » Wed May 21, 2014 8:58 am

Just putting this out there in case someone has by chance done this. I like the stock silencer on my 14 300RR; I note that EEng has SA endcaps for KTMs and wonder if anyone has adapted one of these for the Beta? I just may purchase the replacement screens and try to develop something to fit the stock endcap. Just thinking out loud. TIA Tom

The screens on a 2 stroke tend to clog up. I had the EE one on my KTM for awhile and I would have to clean it every 2-3 rides.

By the time you get done with it you would likely be better off running an FMF Q-Stealth ...

Steve & Steve; thanks for your input - I wondered about the screens but figured with the new syn oils it would not be much of a problem - I figured wrong. How is the sound output on the Stealth? I had both the TC II and the Q (not Stealth) for my YZ's, the TC had a more mellow sound to it and seemed quieter. Is there a lot of difference in length between the stock and the Q Stealth?

Get the shorty Q-Stealth. It is about 2" shorter than the stock silencer. That is what I have on mine.

Does it collect spooge and drool? The original long Stealth was terrible, and not exceptionally quiet once the packing saturated, which was pretty fast.

I have the long stealth also... and it collects spooge and drool... would love to know how the shorty works...
