Speedo/Tach sensor.

Has anyone had a problem with the metallic button that's clipped into the front disk for the sensor getting chewed up/disintegrated by the sensor itself? As if the tolerance was too tight and they were making contact?

I was on a street ride the other day and did some highway miles, and later in the ride the speedo stopped working. Everything appears to be ok except that the button of soft metal on the disk (I'm assuming it's magnetic although I have no idea how the sensor actually works) is shaved down almost completely flat.

I've only used this bike on the road so it has not seen any outside cause for mechanical wear, such as mud or sand.

Thanks,

Jim

yes, happened to me. the magnetic pickup that is threaded into the caliper bracket can be backed out a few turns to get more clearance

Had a replacement sensor a year or so ago.
Then new magnet needed last month due to stone hitting sensor/magnet.

Both replaced by Trail Tech KTM parts.
