beta 300rr 2018 Fuel Catch issue

Postby Mhbernheim » Tue Aug 27, 2019 9:53 am

hi guys, i have a beta 300rr 2018, it sat for a while with an empty tank of gas as I was out of the countr, yesterday i filled her up, cold started the bike and left to get ready for a quick ride. 5 minutes later the bike turned off, I changed spark plug and it wouldnt start, starter would do its work but the bike didn't start.

I went ahead and removed the fuel hose to make sure there was fuel coming oout of the tank and that was the problem... fuel wont come out in any direction, open and reserve. I'm gonna try to fix it but will also be ordering a that specific part from beta, however I found the part number to being :

020.43.007.00.00
from https://betausa.com/content/SUPPORT_PDF ... dition.pdf on page 55. I go online but they all say this is a part number for a PETCOCK, RR 4T MY'10

you can see the link here: https://www.ktm-parts.com/020-430070-000.html

am I missing something or is this really the actual part for a 2018 300rr catch valve?

any help in the right direction is greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. Take the pet cock out of the tank and use some solvent and a tooth brush on it. I suspect that there was some fuel left at the bottom of the tank and this has turned to sludge and gummed up the tap.

Give it a good clean and it should be absolutely fine.

I use brake cleaner for most things as it's cheap and easy to get hold of. You can buy specialist carb cleaner sprays that are made to clean fuel system components.
