Carb Float height on Xtrainer

Postby NWEricr » Wed Nov 20, 2019 12:23 am

I'm a new member, and new owner of a 2018 Xtrainer that I've pulled the carb off to install an oil injection delete kit. While the carb is off, i thought I might as well clean it, set the float level, and see what jets and needles are in it.

I'm familiar with PWK 36 carb tuning, but this PWK 36S carb is different in its construction, especially in regards to float height.

With a standard height PWK, the suggested float height is 16mm but many have found that 18mm, a lower fuel level in the bowl, benefits tuning and prevents excessive fuel puking out the vents.

From what I've read, the suggested float height on this "S" model carb is 6mm. I've searched but have not found any suggestion on what an optimal float height should be for tuning and minimized puking.

I also have a PWK fuel level sight tube. If anyone has been through this process that includes fuel level sightings, I'd really appreciate you sharing your findings. Thanks!

Float height adjustment is discussed on page 55 of the Owner's Manual.

I believe my PWK 36S AG came stock at 6.5mm...adjusted to 7.25mm - 7.5mm. Quit puking, didn't change jetting.
