2020 Beta 300rr S/A end cap

Postby Torbs » Fri Dec 20, 2019 7:13 am

I was wondering if anyone makes a spark arrestor end cap for a 2020 300 RR? Did the make them for 19? I know FMF makes complete silencer finally now. Thanks for any info

Fisch Moto looks good although I don’t see it stamped “US forest service approved” I’ve heard this come up before.

where I ride the rangers just do the coat hanger test. I'm not sure the screen type SA is best for a 2T anyways. probably requires a lot of cleaning. It's a good last option though

The fischmoto SA probably works fine. But it all depends on the attitude of rangers in your area (and whether you ever see them). Technically, I doubt it meets the requirement. I bought the Q-Stealth a couple years ago since I ride in fire-prone areas. But I notice FMF doesnt list it anymore for my 2018.

They are just offering the Turbine Core 2.1. That's because it functions better, is just as quiet and doesn't plug up. :D

Since at least 2016 FMF has only listed "The Q" for the Beta Xtrainer, and the TurbineCore 2.1 only for the RR 2T bikes. I've never seen the Q listed for 300RR. Both silencers have internal screenless spark arrestors that work great.

For a while there was some confusion created by the Beta USA website that had the silencers incorrectly identified, but when you ordered one they always sent the right silencer for the bike.

Both silencers are still listed on FMF's website for the same respective bikes for the new 2020 model year.

FWIW I've got 300+ hours on my Xtrainer with the Q and have only changed the packing once, and that was for increasing noise due to typical packing lifespan.

Regarding the "stick test" by LEO in the field: Sure, they can do that if they're lazy. But the official legal qualification standard requires spark arrestors to be permanently marked with the model number and manufacturer’s name or trademark. That information has to be listed in the USFS list of approved arrestors to be considered valid.
