RR 300 2018 Head mod

Postby Mo_RR » Tue Apr 07, 2020 2:42 am

Hi,
im in the process of changing the Piston on my 300, and was wondering how high i can go with the compression and how low with the squish clearance? On my 250 TM i was running 1.3mm, but going down 0.7mm seems quiet excessive. I could open up the chamber on my lathe, but i would really perfer to leave that alone and just reduce the squish. What are you guys running? I also want to keep the stock head, so no aftermarked stuff. Im looking for some more grunt out of tight corners, but i dont want to loose top end.

I had my 250RR head cut from 1.8mm to 1.2mm. Runs great. Definitely cleaned up the jetting and made it more tolerant.

Did you correct the compression Ratio or just cut down on the squish?

Only the squish was cut. Nothing done to the chamber.
