2016 430RR/RE hanging idle

Postby KRANNIE » Sun Jun 04, 2017 7:09 pm

Beta has replaced the TB (complete) once already (warranty)

The Hanging Idle is back, and it sucks on downhills, that's for sure.

A passive FI 'reset' did nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Specific solution?

Why will they not sell the mapping tool to us !
Mine did the same, so I gave up on them and spent my money on the GET cdi.
It was costly but worth it as can tune the bike now from my phone.
It runs better and has way more go ! I can set the second map to save fuel
for long runs.

I don't know the beta Fi system but they are all pretty similar.
On the KTM- Husky system to fix this the TPS parameters need to be reset using the diagnostic tool.

The way to do it is to warm up the engine as it needs to be off the cold start.
Then shut off the engine and then set with the diagnostic tool the TPS value to 0% with closed throttle and 100% with throttle fully open.
This fixes the issue.
The beta has that reduced engine braking system which might add another step to it as it's possible it needs to be set too. Till I can have a look at the diagnostic tool I can't say.

Also check the engine temp sensor as when it's faulty the ECU will think the engine is cold and keeps running cold start and higher idle.
I would look at that before replacing throttle bodies.
