What type of terrain are you riding?
Open or narrow trails, rocky or roots, wet or dry?
As the type/brand/model of black donuts can make an average bike into a killer bike.

Those tires might work better on a KTM990, when they say big bore I think they mean really big bore, than a lightweight Beta 430

I'm in southern NJ. Anywhere from fire roads to trails with sand and little pavement. But I'd say most of time is windy single where terrain can change 4 times in a mile

The tera-flex... We used to say friends don't let friends buy a Tera-flex.. It's heavy, doesn't do anything well.. And even though it's rated tough it gets scared up when ridden in the rocks. Do yourself a favor and try the maxxis It desert tire. I ran two of the rears on a KTM 450 then on a 525 and liked them a lot. I'm running a motoZ mountain hybrid right now but when I go back to a knobbie it will be a maxxis. I swapped out the front m59 for a Maxxis also and it's been really good. I ran the hammer run and I could really push into the turns harder than I trusted the m59.

And just to add, the maxxis last a long time,, even on the 525 in the rocks.

Thanks for feed back. Im going on vacation next week so after quick ride tomorrow going to drop off for valve check and few other things. I have pirellis on my husky and they work well. It's off road only though. My dealer here has Kendas on hand and friend I ride with just added pair to his Drz, and likes em, but not sure if they'd feel good on my 430. I have also heard other positive reports on the maxxis set ups. I'll check options when I drop it off . Thanks again

Another good option is the new Bridgstone X30 tire. I've got two good rides in a mix of everything from hardpack rocks to deep sand. Great traction and the front end stays planted in the corners. I'm really happy with these tires. I'm running Tubliss 10psi front and 8psi rear.

Answer to your original post is that tire is a beast. Very heavy and not good for much more than chopping off every other row of knobs and using it as a hill climbing tire.

This is the actual tire you're talking about mounted on a pro hill climbers bike:

Those bridgestone x 30's are nice looking. How do they hold up if riding rocks, rocks like shale and then boulders. Most tires except for a few the side lugs rip right off. Those look nice. If the knobs hold up well they look promising. Do you lean over in corners deep? do they hold well if you do? I ask as I have a tendency to lean very far like I'm dragging a knee on the street at times. If the tires are not right it quickly becomes apparent, to me and everyone else.
