430RR FMF System

Postby Hoppy » Fri Sep 09, 2016 5:53 am

Hey have a 16 430 and was supplied with a FMF full system from Beta which is not on the bike.
If its fitted do you have to do any mapping changes?
Does it make a lot of difference power wise?

Cheers Rob

I have a 2015 430rr. Carbed but the fmf did make an overall difference. Running through the gears there's a bit of a flat spot in 3rd but rolling on the gas it's quick to run through it. I have read there is a mapping change but only dealers have the software to change it.

I have placed an FMF system on my 17 430 and find it made a big difference in power and sound! If you ride a lot in sensitive areas the stock setup might be advantageous.

I have the full fmf system on my 16 480. It ran good but was lean with the stock map .We put the FMF remap program in and the bike runs richer now and just runs better from ide to full throttle.

Yes, you need new map with FMF, Beta has 3 different maps to offer with this pipe(engine braking rpm +-).
One warning, FMF system is loud.

Just bought a lightly used ‘16 430 rr (dualsport version here in Canada), the bike has a PowerCore 4 on it and it’s quite loud. I have been looking for a quiet insert for the muffler but the information I found is the PowerCore cannot be equipped with a spark arrestor AND a the quiet insert. I’m tempted to swap the PowerCore out for the OEM silencer but I believe the OEM unit does not have a spark arrestor either.

Does anyone know if there a SA for the OEM muffler on the 430? I’m guessing no as I had to purchase a new FMF for my 300rr.

Dear Beta you make great bikes but why the hell are you skimping on the spark arrestor?

Not true. I have a power core 4 and a quiet insert w/SA. But I took it out. It really chokes up the pipe and it gets quite hot from the added back pressure

Hi Randy

Thanks for the reply. I was able to chat with a Tech guy fromFMF and he confirmed there is a quiet core and SA insert. Yeah I’m sure it does choke the system but she’s loud without it and spark arrestors are required equipment everywhere I ride.

yeah, I have the powercore on my 390. I just bought the SA screen and got used to the noise. Thinking I should have bought the Q4. I'll sell you my quietcore w/SA if you want it.
