REMINDER: Change your Oil Pump gears on your Beta!

If you own a Beta and have any decent number of hours on it, please make sure you at least check your oil pump gears? Ideally change/replace them with new ones.

Here's the middle gear that has just come out of BluLu's 2013 Beta 498RR - less than a third of the gear teeth contact areas still making contact. I shudder to think how close this gear was to failing and resulting in a seized engine!


IMO the metal gears are the way to go for peace of mind.

Na, it's not that tough at all. Don't even need to take the side cover off altogether or replace the gasket. See my post and pics here - https://www.thumpertalk.com/forums/topi ... t=12656455

Make sure to check the bushing for the middle gear is nice and tight with some loctite as it seems that the direction it turns makes it prone to coming a bit loose and leading to the gear failure.
