350RR top end

Postby NJZoltan » Tue Aug 22, 2017 8:59 am

I have about 2600 miles. I changed my valve shims at around 1,000 miles. I'm about due for another shim adjustment. Does anyone know when Beta recommends a top end? Also, can anyone list out companies that sells a top end kit?

Thanks

Do a leak down test, if it is okay then go another 100 hours. Top end should go at least 300 hours unless you are racing the bike at a pro level. If the bike starts fine, does not smoke or use oil it is fine. My 450 ktm went 550 hours and 12000 miles of single track and then only needed rings, beta are just as tough.

No problem, should also have mentioned I only use amsoil 10w50 and I change the engine oil every 5 hours and transmission every 10, engine oil filter every 10. This may be excssive but my piston at 550 looked like it just came out of the box.

I'm not too far off from your maintenance intervals. :)
