Good news - clutch basket arrived at dealer and Beta covered it under warranty as a good will gesture. Not so good news, Beta told the dealer that clutch basket should be replaced every 65 hours!

I have a 13 with high hours and my basket is in really good shape. I wore out a recluse EXP weights and rings but the Beta parts are great shape.I'm not easy on clutches. Yamaha YZ baskets would last me about 100 hrs and would have heavy notching. Seems something changed with the new bikes compared to the 13???

I had a Barnet with the steel inserts on my GasGas that I moved between bikes and it had 300 hrs and still is like new. I do not know if they make them for Beta.

I have a 2016 BETA 350rr. I think I'm due for inspection. What led you to checking? Was it not finding first gear like you mentioned?

If that is the case I would be telling Beta that they just lost a customer. 65 hours is nothing unless someone is a wild man with their clutch.

And if that one is 65 hrs I fear for the '18 models, looks like it will last about 20!

Yep, they did. More problems the Beta after a year and a half than with my two other bikes over eight years.

Ok, Let's not get over excited. besides the OP, how many clutch basket premature wear incidents are we talking about? This is the first I've heard about. Even if there's 10 or more, we're talking about a small percentage.

My '14 498RR has 5,500 dual sport miles and 182 hours on it and the clutch basket "fingers" are completely smooth, like new. However, it does "wobble" a bit even when tight... still trying to determine if that wobble is normal/within spec....
