Currently at 2,200 miles/78 hours. No major issues. Oil and filter changed every 300 miles, air filter changed every 2-3 rides depending on riding conditions. Fork oil changed at 60 hours, oil looked clean. Will probably change out oil pump gears at 100 hours.

Bike has been an absolute blast to ride.

Yes, these 390's are a blast!

I'm on same maintenance schedule. Seems reasonable and should allow me to keep the motor running strong for several years.

Valve check yet on yours?

Loving my 390, firffighter as I know you are too as evidenced by your videos. I'll try to post up some of my own in the near future.

No valve check yet. Bike has run like a top since I got it. Maybe I'll have the dealer check the valves at around 100 hours when I take it in to have the oil pump gears replaced.

My only complaint is lately the chain is making a lot of chattery noise from slapping around. It might be a tad loose so I'll tighten it up a bit. Doesn't affect performance at all.

I am most likely going to do the same as long as it's running so well. 100 hrs valve check and metal oil pump gears.

I get a slight chain slap, but nothing too bad and much better to run on loose side than too tight.

Looks awesome! Besides idling for 10 min, any break in rides?

2016 390 rr. Just over 300 hours. Don’t know the mileage as the speedo is junk ( I’m on my second one) It has been ridden pretty hard in single track and raced enduros and xc. Took the motor in today for a leak down test. It came out at 7% so the mechanics advice was leave it for another 100 hours. Checked the valves. The exhaust were fine but the intake were on the tight side of the min spec so it got a shim change and button it up. I’m pretty pleased with the bike. I’m on my 4th set of plastic gears. It will get a new set before the engine goes back in. It’s clean up time, I’ll clean all the connectors and regrease everything before putting it back together. Going to do a thermostat delete and add a fan during this maintenance.
