Beta 390RR 2017 - Torque and power problems .

Postby 390rr2017 » Tue Nov 13, 2018 1:38 am

Hi ,

Does anyone else have this problem ?
I used the search option and did find anything like my problem .
So, the bike is like new, 42 hours only .
When I go out in the forest with my friends, the bike doesnt have enough power when I need it, when I`m trying to climb a big hill, the bike just revs but doesnt give me enough power in any gear, not to say, I can not use the second gear when the hill it`s abrupt or it s rainy or on leaves.
I dont know what to do with the bike in this condition because I struggle alot when in need .

Thanks in advance .

So your in gear, twist the throttle & the engine revs up but no power to the wheel? Sounds like a clutch or sprocket, or transmission problem. Or no offense, but is there an operator problem here. How experienced a rider are you, 1st bike?

If you're using stock gearing with the 15 tooth front sprocket that's your problem. The stock gearing is for road, not woods. Any riding situation where you need torque, especially on trails with obstacles and hills you want to have traditional off road dirt bike gearing. If you haven't done so already, simply start with the supplied 13T front sprocket. This will help tremendously. Later, try a 50 tooth rear sprocket where most woods guys use the 13/50.

Hi ,

To answer your questions :

Yes, in gear the engine revs but no power as throttle, unable to wheelie not even with clutch .
my sprockets are 13 with 49, as the manual require for enduro.
Non taken, I ride bikes since 2007, a lot, on the street mostly, track days and vacation thru Europe .(I had several bikes.)
Last year i bought the beta 390rr(0 hours) and it was OK for me with limited power for a while but now ...i need to be able to ride with my crew at their level and the bike doesn't help :(

Asked people around too, but no one was able to help me, and in my area I don't have any beta tester to check if it`s software limited or it something wrong with be engine .

@firffighter i did changed them , 13 with 49 .
I dont really think 50 will make such a difference in torque .

OK, sounds like much bigger problem then. Dealer for diagnosis would be my recommendation.

My 390 pulls very hard right off idle.

I think 2017 has alternate map switch. Maybe it is stuck in the low power map due to shorted wire, switch or other malfunction?
