2017 430 rr-s was riding the other week and smelled coolant but did not notice any steam or leaks, then when I was loading I noticed the engine case below the water pump was stained green, further investigation revealed the coolant hose had been partly burned through by the exhaust. Seems to me that this must happen fairly frequently as they seem to virtually touch. At any rate no nearby Beta dealer and wanting to ride the next day Home Depot provided the solution. 3/4" copper fittings soldered together and hammered flat at the conflict point provided a good temporary solution and have been working for the last two weeks of 4 days per week riding.
