Which oil for clutch soak for Rekluse Radius CX

Postby Abercrombie » Sun Jun 09, 2019 6:33 pm

Alright flame away at my stupid question but here it goes. I'm installing a Rekluse Radius CX clutch in my 500 RR-S and need to pre soak my clutch plates. Since this is my first bike with two separate oil cases I just want to make sure I'm using the right oil.

My question is, Do I use Transoil or motor oil for a clutch soak?
I believe that the clutch is lubricated by the same oil as the gear case so in that case I would do the clutch soak with the Motul Transoil Expert 10W40? I'm assuming that the engine oil Motul 4T 7100 10W50 does not lubricate the clutch plates in this engine?

Clutch and trans are the same fluid compartment. Use the Motul Transoil Expert, if that is your normal oil on that side. The thing I have to check constantly, is which drain is which. I think I will mark one with a C for crankcase, and one with a T for trans, during the next oil change.
