2020 Beta 390 RRS redlines at startup

Postby algs911 » Sat May 23, 2020 12:59 pm

Ran great yesterday and some of today. Stopped, tried to start it again, it immediately redlined. I shut it off, then it would NOT start. Drained the battery trying to start it for 15 minutes.

2020 Beta 390 RR-S with 270 miles on it.

Thoughts?

Ok, I found the problem...

The bike backfired when I started it after riding it for 1/2 hour or so. When it backfired it blew the FI off the intake hose leading to the engine. This created a LARGE gap and uncontrolled intake. The hose clamp used wasn't actually a hose clamp, it was some metal band that was REALLY loose. So, replaced the crap-clamp with a real hose clamp, re-assembled the bike, and she fired right up.

lesson learned, carry hose clamps of various sizes with you.
