Beta Model advice (Australia)

Postby Mustangdude » Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:21 pm

Hi all, I'm new here and don't own any bikes, I've just sold a DRZ400 which I bought to ride to Cape York then sold it.

I can't afford a new Beta, second hand here in OZ they're scarce. I've found a 2016 480 Racing near me, I'm not particularly talented and haven't done much dirt in the last 30 years. It's been all large roadbikes.

Riding doesn't "scare" me, I have heaps of confidence and a big bore would be exciting, I was considering the 390, if one was available that'd be my choice.

But lifting the front wheel easily appeals to me. Riding would be some road as well, there's nowhere near me that's good dirt riding but I'd be interested in riding some organized enduros.

My question.......2016 480 racing....what engine differences are there to the 480 RRS? It's hard to find stuff on the 2016 model.
Does anyone own one & can give me some pointers on what to look for when buying?
