Checking oil level

I just purchased a 2021 Beta 500 RRS, the manual says to check the oil level, you should run the bike for 2 minutes, then while it is idling the oil level should be halfway in the sight glass. Is this a misprint? I don't know how you can check oil level while the engine is running.

I have a 2020 Husky FE501. Manual says to start and warm up engine, then shut off and wait 1-minute. On level surface, oil should be between half-way to 2/3 up from the bottom of sight glass. Assuming your bike & manual should be similar?

That is what I am assuming but this is directly from the manual:

1) Keep the vehicle in vertical position
relative to the ground.
2) Position the drive on a flat base ensuring
stability.
3) Start the engine and keep it running for
about 2 minutes.
4) Keeping the engine idling, check that the
oil level reach middle of the of the inspection
window 1.
5) If the level is below the edge of the window,
switch off the engine and top up
through the filler hole 2. Load oil until it
reaches the upper edge of the window.
6) Close the filling hole with the plug 2 and
repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 until the condition
in step 4 is satisfied.

My oil level matches what the manual says after adding the correct amount of oil per the manual. The sight glass is low in the engine, so when cold, the sight glass is completely filled with oil.
