Fuel milage

Postby moto367 » Sat Aug 19, 2017 6:45 pm

New to Beta and I'm curious what kind of fuel mileage everyone with a 2017 250 rr re is getting? Be interested to know what jetting as well that you all have settled on for temps at roughly 900 above sea level. I just picked the bike up so I'll break it in with the jetting that's in it. Haven't even ridden it yet. Pretty anxious to and see what this beaut can do.

Welcome to the joys of two stroke carb jetting. This is the best place to start:

Thanks for the reply. That's an informative link.
While I'm not new to 2 strokes and have a pretty good basic understanding of jetting, I more curious of actual mileage people are seeing with the smaller tank on the 2 stroke Betas. I'm suspecting a range of 30-40 miles. Hoping I won't need to put a larger tank on.

Can't wait to swing a leg over and get some time on it. Things sure look good

stock jetting is actually pretty good...

i run 38 pilot, necj needle #3, 168 main. 200 to 2000 feet, 80 degrees here now.
nedj when it cools with a 170 or 172 main.
i can ride 40 miles at race pace with zero fuel concerns, probably 3/4 or 1/2 gallon left at the end of a 2 hour scramble.
I did adjust my float height slightly, it dripped when tipped or revved hard. that made a huge difference.

2017 250rr.

edit...i like the powervalve flush to 1/2 turn in from flush, just fyi.

THANKS!!! Just the kind of info I was after. Much appreciated. I still may have to buy a larger tank. Some of our local enduros stretch the gas stops. They think everyone rides a ktm.

I get roughly 25 miles to the gallon on my 300rr. That's carrying a pretty good pace. Flat out race pace I would expect 18-22 miles to the gallon. My jetting is 100% stock. The only thing I adjust is needle clip position and air screw for weather. Never had any issues what so ever. I do get spooge but I don't worry about that.
