Oil injection yellow warning when starting the bike

Postby Mikhail » Thu Mar 24, 2016 2:35 pm

Dear fellow Beta 2t riders,

Ive just purchased a Beta RR 300 2016 with oil injection. When starting the bike, first few seconds my odometer is flashing the warning light indicating something NOK with the oil injection. Then it disappears and bike runs ok.

Im just wondering - does it mean that for the first few seconds my engine is not lubed?! Should I be worried about this?

Just a thought...

In most vehicles - the warning lights come on at startup to show you that the warning light is functional (e.g. not burned out)...

Most computerized vehicles also go through a self check and calibration drill when powered up. The KTM 690 indicates this with a up and down sweep of the speedometer needle.
You might check the owners manual and see if Beta wants you to wait until the flashing is done before you start the bike.

That's normal operation. If it stops doing that you can worry about it.

From the XT owners manual:
7.3 Mixer system indicator light 3
When you start the vehicle, the system performs a diagnosis check, while the indicator
lights for 10 seconds.

Mikhail, I think it would be wise to read the owner's manual if you haven't.

60 hours on my bike, a '14 250RR with an S3 head, (admittedly, no o.i.) & the starter works perfectly with no maintenance.

The bike's are pretty well bulletproof.

Also, I know this is the carb section, but getting your jetting sorted, then gearing for your terrain should be your first stops in setting your bike up for s/t rather than bolting on a pipe straight away.

Late model Honda CR-F rear sprockets fit and are @ $40 & jets are $10 a pop.

Love the Red Rocket!

Only sloppy ones. The bolt circle between the CRF and the Beta sprockets is not the same.
