Carb clicking when twisting throttle?

Postby Borgschulze » Fri Jul 29, 2016 7:25 pm

So I just went on my first ride on my new XTrainer.

This is my first 2-stroke bike....

My friend and I were discussing the bike after the ride, and I happened to twist the throttle while the bike was off, and say "Look no AP pump to flood the thing when people decide they need to twist your throttle for no reason"

And I noticed at about 1/4 turn of the throttle, it makes a clicking sound, only when twisting, not when letting it off.

Is this a common thing for the PWK carbs? Should I be worried?

Again, it's my first 2-stroke, everything except the fact that it's a bike is pretty foreign to me still.

EDIT: Should clarify, it is definitely coming from the carb area.

It is probably the thing for the oil injection, there is an actuator in the carb above the slide.

I don't think the TPS would click? Should turn smoothly if it's anything like the TPS on an FCR carb.

My guess is the needle retainer clip isn't seated. It needs to be turned just right so it slides into place. Easy to check and fix.

I think it might just be the spring squirming around. Easy enough to pull the slide for a look see.

Pretty sure that's what it is.

It actually stopped doing it today.

It quit doing it ages ago, shortly after I got the bike.

Check date and read entire thread.
