Jetting 2017 250 RR

Postby robw122 » Mon Mar 27, 2017 2:43 pm

after reading all of the posts here around this I put the NECJ needle in my bike. 38 pilot, 3rd clip, 165 main, 1.5 A/S.
near sea level, 55 degrees or so.
the bike's good down low but wheezes noticeably up top. idk if they changed the bikes at all this year but I'm going to go with the 168 to start.
I should be riding Bristol, VA this weekend and it's supposed to be 65 to 75F.
I'll update with results.

I have got very good info on this site.
Gmp steered me to the NEDW needle for the 250 bikes and I am very happy with the results.
pilot 38 main 168 NEDW clip #3
This is with Euro 95 E10 fuell with 2% oil added. Powervalve 1.5 turn in from flush
Best,

I'm a 300 but tried the NECJ 3rd clip, rest left alone. It was too lean, I went back to stock needle/settings.

Stock jetting is pretty spot on(at least for me) at sea level.

I agree the stock jetting is pretty good. I'm not opposed to see if it can be better, thus the experiment.if I don't like it I'll just go back.

What made you think it was lean? I believe the stock needle is in the 2nd position (from the top) which would be even leaner.

the combination above worked beautifully from 60 degrees on sat to 77 on sunday. i could dial the air screw back in a half with the additional heat.
i used the 168 main.

Thought I would share what works for me.

2017 Beta 250rr Race
Elevation: 2500ft asl
Temp: 55-65f
Premix: Amsoil Dom 50:1
Fuel: 91 pump

MJ: 168
PJ: 38
Needle: NEDW #3
Slide: #7
Float: 7.5-8.5mm

I started out with a NECW which ran great and gave great response but seemed pretty lean to me. I threw in the NEDW which is .5 clips richer and it gave the bike a much more predictable feel. As another stated I may go up to a 170 but with the temps getting warmer I dont think it will be needed.

I get 0 spooge and no loading up.
