17 beta 300rr jetting necj

Postby lcw84 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 12:51 pm

Hey Guys sorry for the same topic and thread. I like be in pa and the elevation I'm jetting for I 0-1000. Temps are around 65-75 for now. I installed necj needle on 2nd clip. Pj-35 and mj-168. Air screw about 2 turns out. Can't really feel difference in adjustments. Do you think smaller pj? I'm still getting spooge but I feel like Jetting is smoother. I tried the Jd jet kit but just didn't like it. Felt way to rich. Anybody around me with elevations and temp alike. A little help. I've searched the forums and they were very helpful. When I blip throttle from idle I get a good amount of smoke then it cleans up. When I'm riding and wack throttle under load it smokes every time. Thanks and I apologize for the same thread and such.

Your already using the smallest pj at 35. I wouldnt base your jetting on spooge, in fact if you dont see a little something on your silencer after a ride, then I would be worried you are lean or forgot premix oil.

Your jetting is pretty lean right now except for the main. Fwiw i run 38p, necw 3rd, and 162 main. This is in georgia. I fatter diameter needle to me gives a better feel when your comjng out of corner a gear high, or need to loft the front and your a gear high. More grunt with fatter pilot/needle diameter.

Im in the same boat as you. I installed the jd jet kit and didnt like it. My beta dealer uses the rmz needle necj 3rd clip, pilot 40-42, 178-180 main to most of the bikes he sells, and he sells alot of em

Same elevation 0-1000'

178-180 main would be very rich with the necx needles. This needle series has a thin tip, so a smaller main works. Even with the stock needle, that big of a main would probably cause 4 stroking at high rpm WOT. But really the only way to know what jetting you need is to test.

For sure! Hard to say just do this and that and it should work. Did you mean necj or necx?

I was using the x in place of j,w,h etc. The whole series of needles has the same taper, just different starting diameters. They all have a narrow tip, so a lot of guys will run a little smaller main with them.

I'm running a NECW #3 with a 165 main. It's too lean up top definitely need a 168 or 170. I ride from 0 to 2500 ft @ 50 to 70 F, and I would think a NECJ would be a little lean. I've considered going to the NEDW

I have been running a N8RH for quite awhile and like it better than the NExx needles. I run from 4,000-10,000 feet however.
