I removed my OI on my 250rr. This included removing the TPS from the carb and I also removed the oil tank from the air box. No regrets at all. I feel the bike is running super clean now with the premix and Suzuki needle. I honestly think my OI was starting to over oil near the end of its life on the bike.

This weekend I checked out the new rr 125 2t and even on this bike there is a TPS on the carb.
That bike doesn't have oil injection

Do you remember the price? I saw one online and it looked like it was more than a new X-Trainer

I sent this exact question to Beta yesterday:
I have a '18 300 RR Race Edition, with no oil injection. If I remove the TPS with your removal kit, will the performance change in any way? Is the TPS used for ignition timing at all? Or only if the bike were to have the oil injection?

Response directly from Beta:
"No, it will be fine. The TPS is only for the oil injection. You may however get a blinking light on your gauge"

My '17 RE has the TPS on. I planned on machining my own as well but time isn't permitting it. I've kinda liked leaving the spring mechanism in the carb as it is a little extra insurance to prevent the slide from sticking. I removed the map switched and wired it to be on all the time. It's not connected to the tps in any way.

The plug kit from Beta is nice but kind of expensive, throttle pull is a little easier and taking the carb top on and off for jetting is 100 times easier, the TPS is for the OI which the race dose not have.

It's a must on the 125rr, those frame brackets are even closer to the carb.

So glad I had installed the TPS removal plug on the 125 carb. It would barely run at 50F with my 75F jetting, and as you say the cylinder stays make taking the carb cap off difficult enough as it is.

I believe you can remove the linkage arm behind the sensor to get the lighter throttle pull. I've been looking for a TPS plug in stock with no luck (can't find one in stock). Its worth $35 not to have to deal with a cable every time I want to remove my carb.
