J is a step richer on the straight section. So a little richer up to about 1/4th throttle or so.

I run the J during the winter months when we are riding around 5K'. Run the K as my mountain needle 6K'+

I have been very happy with the stock needles on my Beta. Have tried a couple of the "magic" needles but have always gone back to stock using the jetting chart from Beta.

Thank you for your input, I also ride a 2014 300rr. I ride from 1500 ft to 5800 feet every ride. Been running the Lectron for years but want to try the stock carb again.

I just installed a JD kit on my 18' 300rr and tried both jetting formats for 0-3K and 3-6K but I actually prefer the how the stock jetting was.

Any idea if the N2ZJ needle delivers like the N2ZW after compensating for elevation?

I'm somewhat in the middle on elevation with the JD kits; my elevation is 2400-3800' elevation and summer temps are in the 95-105 range.

Beta jet chart says 38 pilot, 160 main, N2ZJ needle @ 2nd clip.

If I could get to run like stock but cleaner I'd be happy.

I also installed the JD kit on my 2018 300. I followed the instruction for 3-6K (38 pilot, 162 main, blue needle 2nd clip). Temps are usually around 80 degrees. After a few rides this seems overly rich with some decent spooge.

I'm going to try going leaner on the needle to see how that impacts it. However, the one little thing I think about is whether the OI system is creating the proper mix. Hard to know.

Relax and enjoy the ride. 240 hours and ticking on mine, OI works just fine.

I was looking at needle part numbers, has anyone compared the KTM needles to the Beta needles?

Beta list the N2ZJ
KTM list the N2ZJ-08

Beta price is $15
KTM price is $8

I know this specific post is a bit older, but I'm the same as well.
