So the consensus is “load up” and not a “lean spot”. If you would have asked me 3 months ago I would have argued “lean spot” since richening the needle seemed to shorten its duration.

PV adjustment to flush made “it” longer duration but less intense on warm up. Did a long downhill with small mid range RPM braaps and it still happened.

Opened air screw 1/4 turn and switched to N2ZJ needle (going leaner) and it still does the puttering in the same throttle range with a hot engine.

Aren't you an NExx (Suzuki) needle user? They are not richer than the Beta needles in the 1/8 - 1/4 range. They're actually very similar every except that area. But in that area the Bet needle tapers sooner (richer). I have physically measured this myself with those needles.

I’m a needle slut. But yes, you are right...the taper happens sooner in the Beta needles. Still, currently not as smooth as the W which runs all day without the putter when hot.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be the exact same weather. Will hopefully get this ironed out then.

Switched back to NECW. Air screw stayed at 2 turns out, PV screw flush...bike felt and sounded much better with no putter after the trail. Had a couple of down time moments and everything felt great warming back up.

NECW clip 3
PV flush

Edit: The PV adjustment to flush is money. Can’t believe I didn’t go here sooner.

Feels like popping the front end up from a standstill is easier. Also on hills with short run ups, the engine revs sooner which makes gaining momentum happen faster giving me more balance when standing. I’ve been at 3/4 turn in from flush for awhile, but the difference still seems very noticeable.

Maybe but don't rush with it.
I did this to mine...

... and after a small test ride around home, I think that some snap down low has been lost. But I use also an S3 head and a STIC, so maybe I have to ask Kels his opinion.

And maybe I have grind more than what I should be...

How do like the Stic?

Running the PV flush cleans up the bottom end on my 250RR. Snappier and cleaner just off throttle. Makes logs and step ups easier with little run up. This is with the NEDW clip 3, 168, 38, 1.5 on the AS.
