i had the smart carb on my 2015 300RR for the entire two years i had the bike, so i wouldn't say i didn't like it. my biggest issue with the smarty was that it was too big for the beta physically. I also did zero tuning with it (beyond baseline settings). I never even tried a different metering rod. I also like that you can tune the top end on a lectron (full load) separately than a mid load setting, can't do that with a smart carb. So, i'm hopeful.

Got the Lectron installed. I quickly uncovered another issue, being that i have something wrong in my igntion - think just a bad plug, missing from time to time - weird. Replacing it today. All in all though, I got the lectron running pretty smooth. Nice crack off throttle, good WOT performance - maybe a tocuh softer in the mid, but lugs around really well - no bogginess. I'm going to monkey with it a little more and see if i can get that mid range to pull a little harder. I was riding MX and it was a bit muddy, so i can't say for certain the carb was the issue though. Just felt down on power a little bit out of the corners when i wanted to hit jump, needed a little more clutch than i'd prefer.

it was a bad plug. Bike runs solid now. Lectron running perf. Not even a drop on the silencer. Took me 3 hours of riding and tuning, but she's solid now!

Do you know what rod came in your carb and where you landed in metering rod measurement?

Hows does the power feel compared to the stocker? I just noticed you live in Kirkland, WA. I lived there for a long time (Juanita area). Up in Everett now.

power is little more electric feeling. I'd say slightly less "hit", still really fast. Gets better mileage for sure. Runs and starts better (not that it was bad before). I frankly think the stock carbs is great, i just ride all over the place in all sorts of temps. The lectron just makes my life a little easier is all, and gives me some more range. I frankly think the Lectron is probably a better carb for techy, single track riding, and the stocker is better for racing. but that's just my opinion.

Cool on Everett. I just moved too, now in Kenmore.
