Trev,
I have a 100 hr 250 GG piston I keep around as a conversion piece. I can't believe it myself when I look at it, most of the coating is still intact. Why would I use any other oil and ratio?

I believe it Glenn my 300 piston had 175 hours and looked incredible when it came out for the 250 conversion! Amsoil is quality stuff.

I use Amsoil interceptor. It has lower flashpoint than dominator and works for me because I am rarely on power on my 300. About 40:1 now. Some spooge still though.

Interceptor is fine, but don't play with oils and ratios too much in an attempt to eliminate spooge. Spooge is a good thing (to a point) as it shows full migration. Cutting 3" off the can reduces it some, and switching to a spark arrestor is worse all else being equal. My bike can have a couple inches on the bottom of the can after a slower ride, hardly any racing. Non issue really.

Thanks!

I don't care much about spooge, but bike is running rich based on the plug color. 21 hour on bike now.

Thanks for all the useful information here. I am currently running Motul 800 at both 50:1 and 40:1 and am looking to try something different. I have heard good things about Royal Purple and was wondering if any of you have tried the HP 2-C?

i will probably switch to amsoil when my 4 gallons of legend are gone.

any info is greatly appreciated

also
i am seeing some differences of opinions on mixtures

40:1
