Fuel Filter for Beta 2 stroke .. recommendations ?

Postby brantsdad » Thu Apr 02, 2015 8:04 pm

have a 13 250rr and ended up with the stuck float... no tapping would get rid of it had to pull it apart and blow everything out in the bottom of the carb...

so I'm thinking of running a fuel filter ... what is recommended ? never had to run one before... maybe I'm getting bad fuel with particulates these days...

I don't have a Beta (yet).. This is on my Husqvarna WR250.. It's a Visu-Filter.. Available at Dennis Kirk: Part # 180204

Actually quite amazing what can collect in it.. Also a good visual check if you forgot to add oil (my gas turns red).. Image

I would consider using a fuel stabilizer such as stabil. I am guessing varnish is a much bigger problem than particulates.

I always put fuel filters in all my bikes I've ever had right away.. could be some shavings of plastic in the tank or dirt... There's always rubbish in them from whatever sources. Put whatever one that works best for you. I have the little one first posted here on my 300rr but anything will do.. also when some time has passed replace with a new filter as the plastic gets brittle and has a chance to break if it gets hit by rocks, branches or whatever. It's such cheap insurance for helping ones bike having clean fuel.
