electric start can be intermittant..

2013 250RR

when in a low gear 1st or second (even with clutch pulled in) sometimes it wont start (press button and nothing) I rock it back and forth and then it's good to go...

anyone else see this ?

Mine did that and turned out to just be a lose lead on the battery. The way the seat touches the top ofthe battery made my starting intermittent based on how I was sitting on the bike.

This happened to my bike yesterday.
Symptoms were exactly like described in the first post.
Tighten the battery leads and all is well.

One more simple thing to check when the button won't work is to check the connector behind the headlight. It's a pretty loose fitting.
In that case blinkers and horn will still work so it's easy to diagnose.

If your leads check out your battery may be going south as well. Replace it with a lithium battery and save 2 lbs.

Thanks guys... I appreciate the input... swiched from the top to bottom on the battery for connections... Did my first "big boy ride" in the dez yesterday the bike was flawless and pulled my fat butt everywhere I needed to go and saved me in a lot of sections...

I know GG has the reputation for being easy to ride in the tough stuff but this bike is right up there with it...
