KTM style switches on my new BETA 300 RR 21

Postby madmike999 » Thu May 27, 2021 10:43 am

I'd like to install KTM style switches on my new BETA 300 RR 21.
As seen on the picture, using the ktm style switch on the left for high, low, off , horn and kill switch.
the kill switch on the right would be used as a Start button.

Does anyone have a simple schematic for the connections to achieve that?
Wouldn't like to get into trial and error

thanks!

Try them first. My 16 350rr has same hook up as my 07 ktm 525 with that same switch.

I cant see those pics in last post but; I have a 21 XTrainer. I'd bet that section of wiring is the same.

I bought a ktm start switch as shown. I reused that plug, but needed to swap the two left pins for the two right ones. Actually there was a loop on the other two which would have the kill switch pushed the whole time when plugged into the Beta loom once swapped. So I cut it and with solder and heatshrink joined the ends to a generic YZ style kill switch.
Lights on different connector. I just wanted waterproof.

To remove the pins You can mess around with tiny screwdrivers pressing the sides of the contacts, but it's far easier with the proper tool, which is just a thin piece of tube. You could probably make one by drilling a hole in a small rod. But I'd just bought a multi keyring full of every extraction tool from Aliexpress for pennies and was looking for something to test.
