Hey there, yeah I had the same thing happen a few weeks back not sure how long it had been broken may have been awhile as a lot of the reflective coating inside the headlight housing has flaked off due to all the broken glass bouncing around. Cheers Richard

Vibration is always a bulb killer and never touch a halogen type bulb with the bare hand as finger grease causes the bulb glass to shatter when it gets hot.

On the subject of the headlight shell, the lens plastic is as soft as sugar and mine has gone very milky after I was rubbing the mud off in the dark last winter. Always did that with my KTM and never had a problem.

Any sign that water was able to enter the shell (ie water crossing, deep puddles etc) and caused the hot bulb to burst when it was on? I had the small daylight (running light) bulb come loose on my KTM and the same thing happened.... :x
