Anyone running a map switch on a 2016 300 RR?

Postby BoogieMan84 » Tue Oct 06, 2015 7:34 am

As title states, I've got a 2016 300 RR on order with my dealer and they're telling me the switches are different from the 2014-2015 bikes because of the oil injection? Saying I have to wait until they come out with new versions for 2016. Is there any truth to this or are any of you guys running a map switch on 2016's without issue? Thanks very much, any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

I e-mailed Beta USA just for the heck of it and they were very helpful. Here's the part number for the 2016 300 RR map switch: 031-400030-000

Kudos to Tim in marketing for getting back to me so quickly. Customer service so far has been spot on. I do not know if this part number will work on the 2016 250 RR's, you'll have to contact Beta and do your own research on that. Hope this helps.

Boogie; take a look on page 2 of the following thread viewtopic.php?f=16&t=43&start=10 at Enmerdeur's post. Thanks to him I installed the same on my 14 Beta 300 and kept the switches to a minimum - got mine from Rocky Mountain MC as they had the best price I could find. Works great.

Thanks for the heads up mtdirtbag. I wanted to use the factory Beta switch next to the combo switch (headlight, starter, etc) on the left side of the bars with the intention of going with a dedicated killswitch on the right side of the bars cause I'm not sure I'd like having the kill switch in the combo assembly with everything else, too confusing. I feel like of all things, the killswitch should be separated from all the other switches and be all by it's lonesome. We'll see though, I don't even have the bike yet, it's yet to be delivered to the dealer. Who knows though I may end up going this route. Thank you.

On the left side, I switched the horn button for the kill switch. I had originally thought to use the stock start button for that, but misplaced it somehow - then a accident removed the horn button (which did not have a working horn) so I moved the kill to that spot. Never liked the kill button where the stock location was and read were another inmate moved it. If I decide to replace the horn I will just supply a separate button to operate it - it's less important than other items.
