I have these and use the signal switch to control them.

Hammer; in using the signal switch you are able to use either high or low settings on the heaters? I suffer from cold hands due to a quadruple bypass in 2002, when I start getting cold circulation to my hands starts to shutdown and I have had to abort a couple of rides just because I could not keep my hands warm enough to feel the controls. Of course with the standard system on the YZ I have no way to incorporate heaters, with the new 300 that will now be something I can do. I'm considering the Polly heaters for snowmobiles which mount inside the handlebars.

Left is low and right is high. The signal light in the dash comes on to let me know they are on.

I've run hand warmers for years and tried everything, the problem is always one side is to hot or to cold, or your switching from hi to low all day.

We bought some ODI Lock-on grips and cut there grip off the left Lock-on tube, installed a heater and new grip, then just took a new throttle side ( cutting there grips off is a PIA and a new tube is $10), if you set your wiring up with plug connectors you can unhook them move from bike to bike, you can use your head light switch or an on-off switch because you don't need the high setting.

You will have consistent heat on both sides because it's not getting sucked into the metal handle bar and you can just use the cheapo heaters from Moose or Farm and Fleet for $15-23.

We ride all winter and will also run the handle bar covers along with the heaters so I can wear moto gloves, NO NOT buy the covers for a snowmobile, they are to long and will flop down when you pull your hand out, look for the ATV covers because they are shorter and generally made from a tougher material, I've used the Moose Utility/ATV and they have lasted for years.

I raced all the ice endurance races solo the last two years with this setup wearing summer gloves, and some of our races have green flagged south of 0 degrees.

Hyde; are the ODI grips larger in diameter? I run the lite Pro Grip or lite pillow tops to get the diameter I need, never have seen the ODI's but have read about them before but there is no mention of diameter compared to a regular grip.

I just put shrink tube on the left side bar before I install the heater.

Using the ODI setup you need two throttle grips. There grips are decent if you like waffle grips, but you need to cut them off to stick on the heat elemants.

I plan to use these on my 2015 Cross-Trainer (due in March '15) -

"A’ME Grips is introducing their NEW Heated Off-Road Grip. This grip is made in the U.S.A. and features bluPulse™ ‘Adaptive Thermal Regulation’ technology. This state-of-the-art technology combines intelligent micro electronics with thermal sensors in each grip, and allows a rider to select between six temperature settings with a simple push of a button. A blue LED indicates both the selected temperature setting and heating status while the micro processor varies the amount of heat generated to maintain the selected temperature. These grips allow for comfortable hand temperatures in all riding conditions, reduce fatigue, and maintain finger dexterity which improves a rider’s control of the motorcycle."

"A key component with A’ME’s new Heated Off-Road Grips is an assortment of interchangeable throttle cable Cams that work in conjunction with the right hand throttle sleeve which will allow the grip to fit most all off-road bikes."
