Diagnostics port

Postby Lotus54 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 2:00 pm

I have not seen it mentioned anywhere yet. How can you interface the diagnostics port, and what sort of information will it supply?

I didn’t really see any info in the manual- but certainly I could have missed it. I’m speculating it would show voltage (dc?) and perhaps info from the ECU?

owners manual for my '19 500 RR-S claims the toolkit is supposed to come with "cable adapter to connect the
CAN socket to a scantool"

Says (see photo) after that, don't see anything in the photo that looks like an adapter. I would presume 'scantool' means ODB-II.

Well, not exactly. The jumper that is included plugs into a connector on the bike that accesses the ECU. The standard connector mates to the Beta Scan Tool - the jumper allows you to use an OBD-II reader. I have had it included with some bikes and not others - the new 200s have it in the box.

The XTrainer has this port- but is not FI. What sort of information is available then?

And is only the Beta Scan tool applicable?

Re-read my previous post. On the 2Ts it monitors the oil injection and TPS only. The jumper harness allows you to pull codes from a standard OBD-II reader instead of using the Beta tool, which is a dealer-only item.

Thanks for the info- I wasn’t sure if it was pertaining only to the FI models.
Apparently mine didn’t come with one.
If anyone has pinouts I can build my own.

I would like to have it- just in case for future. Sort of nice to test out something like that while everything is working, so if there is a problem later I know what it is supposed to be.

Excelent pictures.

I see that you have 6 cables on one side an 5 in the other side. I think that there is a internal union betwen the two black-grey cables

Can you check it? With a multimeter. It is the best way
