2020 speedo

Postby craigy » Sat Jun 13, 2020 3:22 pm

Whenever I go above 30km/h it becomes erratic. Usually higher. I've seen 210km/h. I tried shimming the magnet closer to the sensor without any luck. Any other suggestions?

Check the connector behind the headlight. I had the same thing happening. Had to remove the connector from the black plastic holder and plug in the two connectors together . Also my dealer said there was a bulletin on some 20's for a faulty cable and replaced it under warranty.

I had an issue on the first off road ride I took it on (2020 390 race).... speedo worked for about an hour and then reset odometer and hour meter to zero and now won't accumulate mileage or engine run time. Contacted the dealer and they said they have had 4-5 other Beta's with similar issue. I've been waiting on a replacement from Beta Canada for about 3 weeks now. No word back yet on when it will come though...Very frustrating.

Same thing here: 2020 390rr-s picked up about 1.5 months ago and speedo acting up on the first ride.

Visited dealer 3 times and they a waiting on a response from Beta Canada...indeed frustrating.

My dealer gave me a new cable. Mysteriously on my last ride it worked perfectly so I'm waiting to fit the cable.

I just road today and took some dirt roads back to the trail head. When I got about approximately 35 MPH my speed readout became erratic as well. At one time it clocked me a 72MPH!

Did you get a change to change your cable yet?

It is still working without the cable being replaced so I have left it alone.
Hours and odo still resetting though. I have an engine hour meter fitted so I'm not concerned.

FYI; mine was loosing ODO and hours. Changed the 2032 battery. I did lose ODO and hours doing that. However, I waited a few days; road it; and pulled the 2032 battery and put it back in. Didn't lose anything and the settings stayed, haven't switched between KMH and MPH etc... I suspect there is a capacitor in the circuit that holds settings bleeds down if the 2032 battery is dead for too long...
