Start Button Not Working

Hello all... went riding yesterday (2017 300 RR) and the push button worked ok when I fired it up the initially for the ride. About 30 minutes in, I stalled the bike and pushed the button and nothing happened. No clicking, no starting, nothing. Kicked the bike, started up just fine. Bump starting also works fine, bike runs fine once started. Other than checking wires, where should I begin diagnosing this issue? Woudl the bike kickstart if the battery was completly dead? Would I still hear some clicking if the starter motor was shot? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Check the start button itself for corrosion on the terminals. My 2021 starter button sometimes needs a very positive push and a little wiggle. I should examine mine for corrosion before it quits completely and I have no kick starter.
