Oh ya I put 370cc in each outer leg as Leon had stated was better. When I drained the fork 340cc came out each leg. I used Spectro 7.5 wt that is 26.1 @ 40C. Next oil will be Redline synthetic. I am pulling the forks off again right now.

IMO 370cc is too much and why your not using the travel. Big mid stroke ramp up. Drop to 330-340 and try it with the other changes, you can always add it back easily enough.

OK so I want to make sure I get it right. I should remove the free bleed shims which are the ones against the valve itself (face shim) and the next smaller shim. That would leave the shim stack that starts with a face shim that covers the ports on the valve fully. I do this for both the rebound and mid valve. Leave base valve stock. 340cc in each leg again. How about preload? I'm at 5mm setting now.

Yes, do it that way. You have to start somewhere. The mid still has quite a bit of float, so don't sweat that. I run a little less preload using the perch in the 0 mm position and shims under the spring, but it doesn't make much difference. My buddy just wrapped up a Class championship with this exact setup on a GG250 I valved for him.

Taking them apart tonight. Sounds like an easy task. My Redline oil is suppose to be in Tuesday. If I remeber right it is a 2 to 1 mix of 10wt and 5wt to achieve the 26.1 @ 40C.

You may find it wants the rebound adjuster run pretty far in even with the bleed removed, especially with the .48 springs. What is your current rebound stack? I'd probably stick to the original plan and just remove bleed to avoid too many changes at once, beef up the stack later if needed. Don't be afraid to wind that clicker in pretty far though, 6-8 in normal for me to keep it calm and it doesn't pack. Right now the adjuster doesn't work because of all the bleed bypassing it. It all makes sense what you are feeling and I'm sure things will be a step in the right direction.

Hi!

I weigh 92 kilos fully geared up. I would stick with the 370 ml oil because I do not thing it makes for what you felt in the race. I know what you described because I had felt it in several cases when I had the PFP at 2 turns in, comp at 18-20 clicks out (allowing too much bleed together with the bleed shim stack with the result the forks to move easily to the harsher part and then rebound fast) and reb at 18-16 out.

After dirtbird said that the EWC guys run the PFP at 1 turn in, I moved to PFP to 1 turn in, comp 12 (faster tests) - 14 (slower junk) out, and reb always at 9 out. I would never use again this fork with more than 1 turn in on PFP because after all this testing and the deep discussions with Glenn this is for me affecting primarily the high speed hits. This is just my opinion. You are lighter than me so, ok, you could try closer to 350 ml oil but don't go more than 1 turn in for the PFP preload. Then comp at 14-16 out and reb at around 10 out or less. I would take out the reb bleed shim and test before I would take mid bleed shim out.

At this point all the valving is stock. I only changed oil amount and clickers first tuning try. Did not help so I will be trying the free bleed removal now. It is a cheap and simple tune. If that does not work out I may just send them off to Stillwell. I like to try in small steps to keep it simple. I think at 168lbs I am close on the .48kg springs. I will adjust the preload to achieve a 105mm sag up front to match the rear. The rear is at 105mm race sag with 35mm static sag. Close to needing the next size smaller spring.

I think 105 mm of sag on the fork is too much. For enduro you want something around 60-70 mm (remembering from Ohlins manuals...) keeping the 105mm dynamic sag at the back. The numbers you have at the back are the same as I have had and I think they are really OK.

You can measure your actual fork spring preload. Mine was a true 1.5mm in the "0" position on the cartridge.

You have to start somewhere, drop the rebound bleed at least, (mid too but your choice), and the oil. Go test and get another data point, only way to dial in for YOU.
