rear linkage bearings

Postby theo » Mon Jan 02, 2017 9:05 pm

I need a new set of linkage bearings for a '16 XT. Does anyone know if there is a compatible kit from another bike model?

Thanks!

Press out the old ones and the seals. Take them to a bearing shop and they should be able to match them for you

Agree, pop the bearings, Bearing shops usually carry better quality bearings than OEM. Make sure you lube the crap out of them before installation.

Sounds easy enough. Thanks for that. I've often been told that new bikes have little or no grease installed...now I know that for sure. Next time I'll be pulling it all apart before it hits the dirt. Funny tho, all the other ones were fine. I could even see the original color of the grease.

My opinion is all linkage, swingarm and steering stem bearings need to be greased when new.
This is my 17 300RR linkage new, almost no grease.

Good to know. Picking up my 250 Race Edition next week. Will make sure to grease up the linkage and steering head bearings. Also going to get some copper slip on the axle spacer bolts and engine mounting bolts, don't want those to seize up

Hi all,
after some research, here are all linkage and rear shock bearings (model rr300/2017):
dimensions, producer, producer marking and producer number
Same design as original / with cage /without cage, etc.. !
!! BUT Im not 100% sure, maybe i add some info during winter maintenance ;) !!
Edit: evrything is 100% rigth, i chceked it while winter maienence, +i added some info ;)

!! Sorry, no seals and seals dimensions, no spacers and their dimensions !!

Linkage triangle:
Needle bearing without cage: 20x26x16 ... 4 Pcs // Koyo DL 20 16 V - original, Nadella DL2016 - little different, no cage, but needles can not go out/
Needle bearing with cage: 20x26x30 ... 1 Pcs // Koyo HK2030 - is as original

Rear Shock lower - its original:
Needle bearing with cage: 16x24x13 ... 1 ks // Koyo RNA 4901 ... 1 Pcs
+ Inner ring(Spacer) 12x16x13 // Koyo JR12x16x13 ... 1 Pcs
+ you need original seals and seal spacer.
Seal system here look as realy good solution.

Rear Shock upper:
Spherical, 12x26x16/12... 1Pcs // INA GE12PW Pcs - maitanence free with teflon coating
! original spacer needed - use old one, seals are O-rings !

Iam using dark grey MoS grease evrywhere /no in upper shock bearing/ ( cheap shell gadus), after one year riding, no change, no dirt inside, no rust.. just packet some new greas and its good for another year. Yes,im not washing my bike often..;)

Wheels:
Front: 30x47x9 // FAG 61906 2RS C3 ... 2 Pcs + Seal GP 35x47x7 ... 2 Pcs
Rear: 25x47x12 // FAG 6005 2RS C3 ... 2 Pcs + Seal GP 35x47x7 ... 2 Pcs

I have a 2014 300rr, did the rear linkage at around 750 miles, most all bearings were still wet but it was time to regrease. One bearing very dry, there is one and I forget which, that gets the most work. Is it under/close to the shock. That's likely the one you show that's so very dry.

Is there a big enough price difference from stock to go elsewhere?
