This is how my oil looks like after 20 hrs. I run TTX22 inside. This metallic dust shouldnt be there right :)?

My forks are still new (around 30 hours) so I have not experienced any oil contamination yet.
Their anodization though looks suspect and -even using a flat s/driver to open the lower triple- I managed to mark one of them when removing.
And I simply don't like gold just like Ohlins.

So a possibly economic solution is this....

Upper is from a WP, lowers and axle lugs are Sachs.
Internals are neither of them :mrgreen: .

They use the same seals/srapers and the bushings are exactly the same.
Lower triple needs some work as WP is 60mm dia and Sachs 59mm.
Sachs SKF mud scraper doesn't fit on the WP upper
WP uppers are 5mm shorter but this doesn't affect overall length or stroke.

Nope, shouldn't be there.
Same as what I had and a lot of gunk at the bottom I needed to clean out.

Just find some Italian Husky KYBs, almost everything fits straight up even the fork plastics.
All I had to do is undo the brake line and fit the brembo caliper that came with the forks.
Left the nissin master as I want to keep the brake light.
Bleed and ride.
Depending on which bike the forks came from they might need spring or revalve but every suspension tuner knows KYB, no drama.

For me this is not interesting because:

- there are not many Husqy KYB forks around here
- some of them are OC and some CC and the latter might come with really hard springs (.48)
- I preffer Nissin caliper
- as I wrote above I have these cartridges and do not intend to replace them
- This is common to KYB SSS and the fix is not cheap (best way is SDI or similar alloy free pistons)

I do think that is even easier to source a WP fork worlwide.


The fix for the broken free piston (the plastic bit) is to drill a 5 mm hole trough it before it happens. Hardly expensive.
WP forks don't fit as they are bigger at the lower triple clamp and need machining down.
I agree about the nissin caliper, I also prefer it to the brembo. It can be fitted with another bracket. Supposedly a gasgas one or aftermarket.

Yeh drilling the free pistons is the way to go its a bit of lottery though if buy second hand mine were fine :)
