Have you had any luck getting the KYBs on? I'm looking to get a set myself and would be very grateful for any 1st hand experience.

Found a like new set of KYB forks on ebay for $300 with the axle and spacers, they slide right in with Steve's upper clamp, if you had your stock forks at the first hash you would run the KYBs flush. Found a YZ front wheel for $100, and I had a 280mm rotor and brake caliper extension bracket on the shelf from my Cannondale days.

Sounds like the Husqvarna will side in the stock clamps but I could find a set under $600, and my suspension guy said the Yamaha forks have better internals, any Yamaha 125-450 fork 2006 and newer are the good ones and easy to find.

I'll get to try it out this weekend.

What's wrong with the Sachs forks?

How long have you got?

I'm looking at a set of Husky KYB OC forks as they are much less hassle to fit, go straight into the yokes and the spindle diameter is the same as the Beta. On the experience of a couple of people in the UK that have done this, the main changes are that you need to go to a Brembo caliper and play around with wheel spacers to line up the Beta wheel. I'm only looking at a shorter term fix until I hear if there are any fork changes on the 2015 models. If so, I'll go for the new model.

Sure, but then you've still got OC forks ...

Ned, see my comments on the KYB vs Sachs thread recently. I have fitted some older KYBs and the effect is staggering.

No joy on disks yet, the Racedisks ones are garbage and only last 2 minutes. Rockwell KTM discs are excellent but you will need to relocate the speedo magnet.

I need to find a good source for Galfer disks.

I've heard of a few people who have used Dr Shox and not found any advantage, especially on the forks. Contact Brokenlegs on the KTM forum. He's the man for suspension, he transformed my shocker and was honest enough to tell me the Sachs forks were very limited in how much they can be improved. He is up in Lancashire but well worth the postage.

From what I've heard, all the sponsored riders have changed the fork internals. They need to keep them looking like stock but have all sorts of internal changes including Ohlins inserts or they are machined to take WP internals. There's a set of KYB closed cart forks on Enduronews.com at the moment.

Stillwells fixed mine. The newer Sachs are pretty much a WP OC copy so internally there is no reason they can't work as well as those which mine now do.

Yes and they use 8mm shims I beleive not the 7mm oddballs like before. If you look at accessories in the Beta USA store, you will see a 7mm shim kit listed for MY '12 and '13, not '14.

This whole fork thing in more of a OC/CC thing than a Sachs/Marzocchi one, JMO.
