Shock bolts are 70nm and linkage 90nm. Have not any experience with the IMS but i think that you don't have to remove the s-frame, only the 2 lower, the silencer and undo the carb intake collar.

Thanks dirtbird :)

70nm = 51.529 foot lbs
90nm = 66.38 foot lbs...

MERICA.. :)

Wow, 5.2 sounds way light for 235. I'm 180 tops, 205 w/gear ready to race, and 5.2 is OK but any heavier and I'd be on a 5.4 for sure. Also, beware the Beta torque table, some of those values are scary tight.

I know ... Dave thought the 5.4 would be too stiff.. like the softness of the suspension right now...

It will feel better up in the stroke with a stiffer spring than sagging down in the progressive part. Plus it will steer correctly. JMO.

I'm not against finding efficiencies, but I choose 'correct' over 'cheap and dirty' everyday.

The guys who don't find time to do a job right end up having to find time to do it again. :ugeek:

In my world, cheap and dirty can be many other things such us:
- laughing at other people's ways without having the slightest idea about their background
- coming into easy conclusions
etc., etc.....

Back to our topic, there is absolutely no need to remove the sub-frame (my English are telling me that this means taking this part completely off the motorcycle) in order to replace the rear shock absorber.
