KYB forks

Postby Ed Lew » Tue Aug 07, 2018 2:40 pm

I have a set of yamaha 2006 sss forks for my 2018 Beta, can anyone tell me if I can fit the internals into some 2012 Husky KYB OC forks, or at least use the upper fork leg?
Thanks

I’m in the final throws of putting some KYB SSS forks on my 2018 Beta RR, What oil does anyone recommend ( other than kyb m01 as it’s hard to get hold of). I have some motorex 5w but the cts is 22 compared to 15 for m01, so I’m undecided whether to use my motorex or get some other oil.

Did you use stock clamp (late model SSS) forks. Boano has a bracket for the brake. Spacers? Axle?

Just curious as this seems like a very good solution I am looking into vs. cartridge swap.

I bought some beta forks and swopped the lugs onto the KYB fork legs.

Stock clamps but machined the outer tubes to fit.

So the SSS Cartridge fits the stock Beta/Sachs lugs?

Remove bottom lugs from Kyb sss forks and beta forks, manufacture aluminium inserts for the inner cartridges to fit, then fit beta lugs to kyb inner tubes snd re assemble. I did not make inserts so not sure of sizes.

Who manufactured the adapters, where have you purchased them?

Got the forks together and on the bike. First impression is it’s well worth the effort
