CC sachs how much cartridge oil did i lose?

Postby flabeta » Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:55 am

I guess when i tilted my forks to assemble the rebound assembly fork oil must be leaking out the cartridge weep holes. How important is this do i need to redo anything?

Turning the cartridge upside down should not lose any fluid from within the cartridge.

Where is it coming from? The small holes that release the fluid as you bleed the cartridge (by pushing up the damper rod)?

Or

The larger holes that are above the base valve seal?

Yes the 2 small holes that bleed when the rod is pushed 100%

If you bled your cartridge during service, then the excess oil will stay above the closed part.
You just didn't turned the cartridge upside down prior to fitting it to the fork.
There's no oil escaping with the rod extended, only when it is fully (or almost fully) compressed.
