Well thats going to cause a heated discussion :) My thoughts the Beta has less travel than other bikes so using the 1/3 rule your looking around 97mm loaded. I end up with 97mm loaded 33 static.

I never liked anything less than 100 mm on several Betas from the 250 2013 to the current 300 2018. Now with a 54 shock spring it is about 36-37 mm static and 103-104 race. I always go by with the overall feel/balance and how the fork works. Also the ride height is heavily affected by the high speed adjustment. I have noticed that the 2018 shock with either the stock 52 or the 54 spring likes this adjustment to be in the 13-17 clicks out range. Stock shock settings per the manual are way too soft. Keep this in mind also when setting the sag.

Not sure how guys could run less than 100 mm on the 14-17' bikes, I tried it and could get it to turn or stay planted in the corners I always ended up at 35/105 or so, but I tend steer with the rear more than most. The 18' and up bikes have new frames, I tried 105 on my 250rr, and it didn't turn as well, started dropping down and landed at 100 mm on both the 18' 250rr and 125rr.

Every body rides different and sits on the seat in a different location, I know mine is in the sweet spot when I can sit in the middle or slightly forward and easily corner on the gas, you'll know when it's right.

I've settled on 100mm / 32mm with stock spring on a '18. 300RR. (73kg+10kg gear)
Once I've tried 108mm / 38mm for experiment and it nearly killed me. It ruins the bike.

Leon, how many clicks in total do you have on the High-Speed Compression knob?
I only have 17 clicks in total, so I left the setting somewhere in the middle.

Hi!

With the stock 52 shock spring on the 2018 it was also the best for me at 100 but the static sag was less than 30 mm (and I could still bottom it at different occasions even if I had the high speed at 10 out and the low around 13-14. I am 82 plus gear, 90 plus. I will try it again at 100 from the current 103-104 some time soon. I think I get for both low and high speed adjustments in total around 26-28 clicks. I have to check it again. Now I am at 16 out. I think there is something wrong with your shock for the high speed adjustment.
